Tatton MP Esther McVey has met with one of China’s top Government ministers setting out the case for investing in Cheshire.
Ms McVey met with economic and commercial minister counsellor Bao Ling at a lunch of Cheshire business leaders held in Parliament last Wednesday.
She said: “We have so much to offer in Cheshire and it is vital world leaders know that. We are always looking to welcome new investment and business in the area.
“The North has strong ties with China and we have seen an increase in numbers of Chinese visitors in the last two years and a recent study showed more money was spent per visit in the North than other parts of the country. It is clear we have a lot to offer and I will do everything I can to push for investment in our area.”
The event was attended by various business leaders, Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership and other potential investors from around the world.
