I wanted to update you on a few matters in relation to Northern Services this weekend.
Industrial Action on Saturday 29 December
Again this Saturday we will be running a special timetable due to the ongoing RMT strikes. Services will be wound down at around 5.00 pm

Services this Sunday in the North West
This Sunday, there are a number of planned cancellations to train services that customers will face on parts of our network in the North West. These cancellations are not related to the introduction of the new timetable. We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our customers. Please check immediately before you travel. Warrington Central – Manchester Airport
This service will not run – Customers should change at Manchester Oxford Road.
Manchester Piccadilly – Hadfield
This service will be reduced from two to one service per hour.
Manchester Piccadilly – Hazel Grove
There will be an hourly service starting and terminating at Buxton. Customers advised to travel on the Buxton services for Hazel Grove.
Colne – Blackpool South
Services between Colne and Blackpool South will not run. An hourly replacement bus service will be provided.
Manchester Victoria – Blackpool North
Services between Manchester Victoria and Blackpool North will not run. Customers should use services between Manchester Victoria and Blackpool North and an hourly bus replacement service will cater Lostock, Blackrod, Adlington. Layton will be served by the Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street service.
Liverpool Lime Street – Wigan North Western
This route will be served by the Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street service. Customers are advised to check immediately before they travel and use alternative services on this route.
Blackpool North - Hellifield
All services have been cancelled. A bus replacement service will be provided.
Southport – Blackburn (via Atherton and Todmorden Curve)
This service will not run. We will be running a bus replacement services between Todmorden and Blackburn and one between Wigan Wallgate and Southport.
All the planned cancellations will be fully updated on the Northern website or National Rail Enquiries websites and apps overnight, so customers should check on Saturday morning for the latest information.
