Esther recently visited the Wilmslow branch of Carefound Home Care, which provides highly personalised care to older people in their own homes, after it was rated outstanding in all areas by the care regulator.
She was welcomed by the local team to hear about how Carefound Home Care has become the only home care provider in Cheshire to be rated outstanding in all five inspection areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). She also learned about the importance of attracting, training and locally supporting staff and how technology and data is being used to enhance the service.
During the visit Esther met Kirstie, a live-in carer, and Stephanie Pemberton who uses Carefound Home Care to support her Mother at home with 24-hour live-in care as an alternative to a care home.
Oliver Stirk, Director of Carefound said 'At Carefound Home Care we are very proud of the live-in care and hourly visiting care services we provide to older people in Cheshire, including those living with specialist conditions such as dementia. We were delighted that Esther took the time to learn more about our service and gain insights into the day-to-day experiences of our professional carers and the families we support. We have a growing need for local people to join our home care team in what is a hugely rewarding role and we look forward to enabling more older people in Cheshire to continue to live in the comfort of their own homes.”
Esther added ‘I was pleased to visit Carefound so soon after they were rated as outstanding by CQC. It was also interesting to hear about the in-home care they provide and how that can be a real option for some people. We also talked about where technology can support their carers but clearly that relationship between carer and client is key and the importance of personal interaction and the human touch can’t be underestimated.’
Carefound Home Care was founded in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in 2012 where the service is also rated outstanding by the CQC, something only 3% of care providers in the UK have achieved. The Cheshire office was opened in Wilmslow in 2017 to enable the organisation to deliver truly local care to elderly people across this area.
