Mobberley Methodist Church (MMC) has ambitious plans to redevelop the Church. The project called ‘Vision 25’ is a million pound project which they aim to complete by 2025.With the easing of lockdown last week Vision 25 took the opportunity to run their first fundraising event a car wash and bake sale.
They were overwhelmed by the support from the local community and raised just short of £700 during their mammoth 3 ½ hour event. The fundraiser was well attended by the local community. Vision 25 were delighted that Tatton MP Esther McVey and Local Councillor Charlotte Leach offered their support and even rolled up their sleeves to assist in the car washing. Of the event Esther says;
“A great time was had by all, the sun was shining, the community came out in force to get their cars washed and a fantastic amount of money was raised towards the church redevelopment.
“I was delighted to have been invited along to the first car wash event and it was lovely to finally be able to get out, meet people face to face for the first time in a very long time and help raise money for a fantastic cause.”
There was a real buzz about the event with local bakery Peter Herd also kindly donating some cakes for the bake sale. The renovation of the Church will include a community café. The community café team have issued a questionnaire to get feedback from the local community. The questionnaire can be accessed via the website www.vision25.co.uk.
Following on from the success of the event the Church plan to run the car wash and bake sale every month details of which will be advertised on their social media channels.
Funding the redevelopment of the Church will come from multiple sources with around 1/3 coming from fundraising. So, they are looking for volunteers, if you want to get involved simply email [email protected].
Vision 25 have a schedule of activities including charity auctions, a 24 hour bible read and cream tea afternoon. Details of forthcoming events can be accessed via the website or by following them on Facebook and Instagram simply search for ‘Vision 25 Mobberley’.
The Church is very excited about the forthcoming developments and hopes to see the project completed in 2025.
